For sale in this lot is a vintage unrestored sowing factory clocking in card holder cabinet. Recently salvaged from an old sowing mill in the North of England (UK).
This item still smells of the sowing machine factory oil, and has been cleaned by us using a natural bee’s wax for protection. A very nostalgic and industrial piece of furniture, both in its form and original aged look. Original paint in vibrant green, with each slot section stamped/engraved with a number (photos provided).
We have been informed by the factory owner that this cabinet would have originally sat towards the entrance of the working door for employees to place their work cards in, for management registration needs. The item weights approx. (25KG) as it’s made from solid old wood, dovetail joints in sections with flat head nails across its shelf sections. The card insert sections are approx. 4 to 5” deep, this item would make a wonderful addition to any cool office space/entrance or industrial home interior. One thing is for sure, this item is better in the flesh and whoever buys it will not be disappointed with its look.
