An 20th Centuryoctagonal bamboo occasional, side or lamp table in the manner of EW Godwin and in the aesthetic taste. Good patina to the bamboo and the two floral decorated tiers are in excellent clean condition.
During the late 19th & early 20th century there were bamboo furniture producers in Britain, mainly in London and other industrial cities, with materials being imported largely from Japan.
This is a particularly nice example with a lacquered effect top, showing birds in foliage and is in surprisingly good condition and still colourful. The table is sturdy with visible aged wear (just how we like them).
