Allegory of Putti - Spring

This decorative allegory features a group of playful putti surrounded by fruits and flowers. The practice - inaugurated in the 16th century with frescoes realistically depicting works combining the two genres of the human figure and still life - was particularly widespread in Italy in the second half of the 17th century until the end of the 19th century when, occasionally, the same fresco involved specialists in the different genres.
