Her style was old-fashioned elegance but it also came laced with an oriental flavour, a legacy of the days when, as a young woman, she had travelled widely in the East. She delighted in the baroque and the highly-coloured, often "building" a room around a carefully chosen antique carpet.
Her commissions;
Goodwood House, for the Earl of March
Chris Blackwell, the head of Island Records
Offices and two houses for the inventor and entrepreneur Sir Clive Sinclair
Suites for Claridge's hotel.
She decorated houses in London and Los Angeles, as well as a yacht, for the late industrialist Lord White of Hull AND a New York apartment and a house on Long Island for the singer Paul Simon
